View from a Moving Train

View from a moving train.

Traveling south on the Hudson River line of the Metro North, I couldn’t help but notice the swiftness of the passing foreground as compared to the perceived stillness of the distant landscape on the horizon.

I had the sense that I was traveling at different velocities simultaneously.

I endeavored to capture them both from the window of my rushing train. It was challenging, trying to capture interesting foregrounds that complimented my backgrounds.

The desired effect I hope, is visibly apparent in this installment of my journal, as you may notice the broad strokes of color and texture in the foreground, and fairly distinct shapes and objects in the background. It creates a floating sensation for me, what about you?
