Alternate Focus: Raindrops

April 18th, 2009

Two years ago, I began my series of “Alternate Focus” images, featuring raindrops on glass.

The abstract character of the work appealed favorably to quite a few observers. I noticed on closer examination, that a distinct representation of the prevailing scene could be discerned within the individual raindrops on the glass. I enjoy producing these images, because I believe that they encourage the viewer to imagine or reconstruct the scene that’s actually there beyond my focus. I invite you to comment on what you believe is going on in my “alternate focus” images.

Let me know if you enjoy my work.
