brooklyn-navy-yard-finalThe recent tragic events at the Washington DC Navy Yard caused me to think about the NavYard here in Brooklyn. At first, I thought that the incident occurred here in our beloved Brooklyn, only to be followed by a pensive sigh of relief, when the correct details were laid bare.

The Brooklyn Navy Yard is currently the focus of some major developments that will change its appearance considerably.

For several years, my artistic photographic eye has been drawn to capture The Brooklyn Navy Yard’s “Admiral Row,” at varying times and seasons. This is only a small sample of the results, taken one particularly clear and pleasant day in December 2006.

Literally decades of abandonment, weathering, and decay, had cast a distinctive patina of aging on these vintage structures, that I have striven to capture in my images. In time, I might present other images in different seasons, if there is any interest generated.
