Cool Trip on a Hot Day

July 18th, 2010
Viewing fish as the Brooklyn Aquarium

Viewing fish at the New York Aquarium.

June 28th was a really hot day in New York. So a trip to someplace cool was the destination of choice. This time we visited the New York Aquarium, in Coney Island, Brooklyn. I’m always thinking of stimulating experiences to expose my son to. So, I attempt to remember the things and places that captivated me in my past, especially the memories of my own childhood. Granted, a lot has changed since then.

Does anyone remember and/or experienced the Coney Island Steeplechase? Rockaways’ Playland? Palisades Park? Well, the children’s playgrounds currently being built around the city seem to be pretty fascinating. As my son progresses to the point where he can appreciate them more, we will explore them together.
